1. Personal Information We Collect

Information You Provide

We may collect account and profile information such as your name, username, email address, telephone number if provided, authentication information, profile photograph, biography, clothing sizes, style preferences, and similar information you choose to provide.

We may collect closet and listing information, including photographs and descriptions of clothing and other items; brand, size, condition, category, color, and other item attributes; rental, borrowing, or sale preferences; pricing; and availability.

We may collect social and interaction information, including friend requests and connections; users you follow, block, or report; listings you save, like, view, borrow, rent, or purchase; and content you choose to share through the Services.

When transactions are enabled, we may collect information relating to purchases, rentals, refunds, deposits, fees, payouts, and transaction history. Payment card and banking information may be collected and processed directly by third-party payment providers such as Stripe. Vault may receive limited payment-related information such as transaction status, payment identifiers, and limited account or payment-method details, but we do not necessarily receive or store complete payment card numbers.

We may also collect communications you send to Vault, including customer-support requests, feedback, reports, survey responses, and other correspondence.

Information Collected Automatically

When you use the Services, we may automatically collect IP address, browser and device type, operating system, device identifiers, approximate location derived from IP address, pages or screens viewed, referring URLs, dates and times of access, clicks and interactions, session and usage information, and crash and diagnostic information. We may collect this information using cookies, software development kits, pixels, local storage, and similar technologies.

Information From Third Parties

We may receive information from third parties that help us operate the Services, including authentication providers, payment processors, hosting and infrastructure providers, analytics providers, email and communications providers, and fraud-prevention and security providers. If you connect a third-party account to Vault in the future, we may receive information you authorize that service to provide.

2. How We Use Personal Information

We may use personal information to create and maintain accounts; provide, operate, and improve the Services; allow users to create profiles and digital closets; enable borrowing, renting, selling, purchasing, and other transactions; facilitate social features; process or facilitate payments and payouts; communicate about accounts and transactions; provide customer support; personalize recommendations, search results, feeds, and other features; develop and improve recommendation, analytics, and AI-powered features; understand usage; conduct analytics and product research; detect and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and policy violations; enforce our agreements and policies; comply with legal obligations; and protect the rights, property, and safety of Vault, our users, and others.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Vault and its service providers may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Services, remember preferences, understand usage, maintain security, and improve performance. Categories may include strictly necessary technologies for core functionality, authentication, security, and account management; functional technologies that remember choices and preferences; analytics technologies used to understand traffic and performance; and, if implemented, advertising or marketing technologies used to measure campaigns or provide advertising based on activity across services. Where required, users may manage non-essential cookies through Vault’s cookie preference controls.

4. How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to service providers that support cloud hosting and databases, payment processing, authentication, email and communications, analytics, security and fraud prevention, customer support, and technical infrastructure.

Certain information may be visible to other Vault users depending on your account and privacy settings, including your username, profile image, profile information, closet listings, item photographs, and other content you choose to make available.

If Vault is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar transaction, personal information may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction.

We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, respond to lawful requests, enforce agreements or policies, investigate fraud or security incidents, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Vault, our users, or others.

5. Sale and Sharing of Personal Information

Vault does not sell personal information for money. Certain uses of advertising or analytics technologies can potentially constitute “selling” or “sharing” under some U.S. state privacy laws even when no money is exchanged. If Vault engages in activities legally considered a sale or sharing of personal information, we will provide notices and opt-out mechanisms required by applicable law.

6. Artificial Intelligence and Personalization

Vault may use automated systems, algorithms, or artificial intelligence to provide features such as personalized clothing recommendations, styling suggestions, search results, trend insights, fraud detection, or other product functionality. These systems may process item attributes, closet information, preferences, interactions, and usage activity to generate or improve recommendations. We will update this Privacy Policy as these practices develop.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain accounts, complete transactions, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, enforce agreements, and fulfill the purposes described in this Policy. When information is no longer reasonably necessary, we may delete or de-identify it, subject to applicable legal requirements.

8. Data Security

Vault uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information. However, no internet transmission, database, or information system can be guaranteed completely secure. Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of account credentials and should notify us if they believe an account has been compromised.

9. Your Choices

Depending on available Services, you may be able to update profile or account information, change privacy settings, unsubscribe from marketing communications, manage cookie preferences, block or report users, or request account deletion. You may continue to receive transactional or service-related communications when necessary.

10. California Privacy Rights

California residents may have rights under California privacy laws, subject to applicable requirements and exceptions. These may include rights to know or access certain personal information; request deletion; request correction; opt out of sale or sharing; limit certain uses and disclosures of sensitive personal information where applicable; and exercise privacy rights without unlawful discrimination.

11. Children’s Privacy

Vault is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have done so without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. If Vault permits minors between 13 and 17 to use the Services, additional protections or restrictions may apply.

12. Third-Party Services

The Services may contain links to or integrations with third-party websites, applications, or services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies. Vault is not responsible for third-party privacy practices.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes to our Services, practices, technologies, or legal obligations. We will update the Last Updated date and provide additional notice for material changes where required.
